Thank you for interest in submitting commentary to Dialogues: Blog of the American Studies Journal!
Submissions for the blog should critically analyze an aspect of contemporary society or culture. Focus submissions around judicious commentary on social, cultural, and political issues, with an emphasis placed on informative content. We feature six series that address central topics in the field, including teaching, research, creative works, and activism broadly. This platform is for public facing scholarship and therefore writing should limit field specific jargon and extensive citations.
- Submission length 800-2000 words
- Include at least one graphic for website marketing

- We welcome multimedia submissions including sound clips, film, and other visual works
- Rolling submissions
- Select blog essays will be printed in the American Studies Journal’s summer issue
